    How to be more patient

    1. Look at things from their perspective.
    2. Acknowledge and respond.
    3. Take care of yourself.
    4. Don't stress the small stuff.

    1. Look at things from their perspective.

As parents, we know how we expect our kids to behave. One way to be more patient with your kids is to put yourself in their shoes.

Has there been some really big changes recently? Family illness? Are they not feeling good?

When you view something through a child's perspective, it might help you better understand why they are frustrated or acting out.

    2. Acknowledge and Respond

A tantrum is in full swing, and our initial response is usually to react and get the tantrum to stop.

Instead, try to acknowledge they are mad or frustrated.

Then, respond in a way that can help provide a solution for both your child and you as a parent.

    3. Take care of yourself

When are you the most frustrated?

Like many parents, I lose my patience when I'm really tired or hungry. Or sometimes when I just haven't had some time to my self.

You can only give so much when you are running on empty, so make time for yourself.

    4. Don't stress the small stuff

There's always going to be times where things get on our nerves, but remember don't stress about the small stuff.

Find a way to cleverly teach your child to clean up if they make a mess.

Or offer a better alternative if they want to play with something they shouldn't be.

If they keep running inside, ask them if they would like to go outside and run around.

    FAQ

Why am I an impatient parent?

There can be a number of reasons like being overstimulated, being hungry, tired, or not getting time for yourself to do things you enjoy doing.

These can all lead to impatient outbursts.

How do you fix motherhood burnout?

Start prioritizing yourself more, and actively participate in a hobby you enjoyed before you had kids.

Ultimately, you have to find breaks to reconnect with yourself and find your inner happiness again.

So, just remember to look at things from your kid's perspective, acknowledge then respond, take care of yourself, and don't stress about the little things.
