Anyone else find their passion for reading again after becoming a mom? One of my all time favorite genres to read are romantasy books. Think dragons, magic, adventure and romance.
Here's my top picks with a brief synopsis, but no spoilers I promise!
Best Romantasy Series and Books
1. ACOTAR (A court of thorns and roses) series
A Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR) is the story of a human woman named Feyre who goes hunting in the wintertime to feed her family and ends up killing a wolf. What she doesn't know is that this wolf is actually a member of the spring court of faeries, and their ruler Tamlin comes to collect a life debt.
How many books are in the series?
There are a total of 5 in this series, but Sarah J. Maas is working on another one. You can find the complete box set here on Amazon.
2. Fourth Wing Series
Rebecca Yarros writes this captivating series about Violet Sorrengail who was never supposed to be a dragon rider. In fact, she trained all her childhood to be a scholar like her father, but her mother has other plans. Against all odds, she makes it through and in the process befriends an unlikely cadet that her sister warned her against.
How many books are in the series?
There are 3 in the series right now, and hopefully Rebecca Yarros will begin the 4th one because all the Onyx Storm readers like me have been left hanging on what is going to happen!
3. Lightlark Series
Isla grew up being trained to fight but also to keep her secret hidden from anyone which meant a lonely life. Six realms are cursed with different things, and every 100 years they meet for a centennial to try and break the curse that no one has been able to.

4. Quicksilver
Saeris has taken care of her brother ever since her mother was killed by the Queen's guards, but after a theft went wrong she ends up in the palace where she unlocks a portal made of quicksilver and is transported to a magical realm. There she makes a deal with Kingfisher to help her get back home in exchange for helping him with this war.
How many books are in the series?
Only Quicksilver is available right now but book 2 in the series comes out this November 18, 2025 titled Brimstone!
5. The invisible life of Addie LaRue
In an effort to avoid getting married to someone she cannot stand, Addie LaRue makes a bargain with green-eyed demon that she soon regrets because in exchange for immortality and her freedom, she is forgotten by everyone she meets including her family and friends.
