Social anxiety is the worst! I speak from experience, because it's something I battle everyday. Everything from a phone call to a trip to the store can bring on the mountain of what-ifs and possible scenarios of what might happen.

I will rehearse what I will say on the phone before I call someone or jot down on a notebook paper an outline of what I want to say. Everyone does that right?

If this is you, then you might get a lot out of these books! I didn't write any of them, but have either read or am planning to read them. 🙂

    1. How to be Yourself (by Ellen Hendriksen, Ph.D)

the book "How to be yourself"

Okay, so this one was a game changer! I listened to it on audible, but honestly wished I would have bought a hard copy.

Any how, the author gives some great advice on how to cope with social anxiety and get over it so you can enjoy your life.

What I especially liked was that not only is Ellen Hendriksen a professional, but she also has suffered from social anxiety and has witty stories of her own anxiety-ridden fears.

    2. Be Calm (by Jill P. Weber, Ph.D)

    the book called "be calm"

Be Calm is another must read because it helps give you tips to calm your anxiety. The author is relatable and gives lots of real world examples which help immensely.

    3. You are a Badass (by Jen Sincero)

the book "you are a badass"

Okay the title alone is why I want to read this book. With a name like that, it's got to be good!

    4. How to Win Friends & Influence People (by Dale Carnegie)

the book "How to Win Friends and Influence people"

This one was recommended to me by my younger sister! We're both a little social anxiety ridden...must run in families.

    5. Conversation Skills for the Shy (by Emma Watkins)

the book "Conversation Skills for the Shy"

I'm judging this book by the cover...AND also the title. I'm definitely shy, and in need of some serious conversation skills.

    6. The 5 Second Rule (by Mel Robbins)

A book called "The 5 second rule" by Mel Robbins

Mel Robbins' 5 second rule can be used for all parts of life including overcoming your anxiety. This book teaches you how to implement it in your life so you stop being paralyzed by fear.

Her approach is to count backwards (5-4-3-2-1) then you make necessary actions to do the thing you are scared of.

Have you read any of these? If so, leave me a comment below and let me know which one is your favorite! Don't see your favorite up here? Comment your favorite, I can always use more books to read!
